Technology is fascinating, but like an apple at the bottom of a fruit bowl, it promises much but can leave a bad taste in the mouth when it fails to deliver. Commercial and technical realities rarely coincide but often pretend that they do.
I write about the issues surrounding the uptake of technology. After graduating as an engineer and working in the IT industry for 18 years I have a solid understanding of the technically possible, and a grasp of commercial pragmatism. My consulting career has taken me around the globe, onto the staff of a selection of the world's largest companies, and into the board rooms of start-up technology innovators.
This extensive expertise allows me to pose difficult questions, understand the answers, write insightful comment and in-depth features, while I will always maintain a readable, entertaining style.
